The Soft Power Manual Launch Evening — Sydney, April 2026
On a warm autumn evening in Sydney, readers, contributors, friends and curious strangers gathered inside a small library lined with books, plants and soft lamp light to celebrate the launch of The Soft Power Manual.
What began as a deeply personal writing project slowly became something larger than a book.
A conversation.
Not about becoming louder, harder or more polished — but about leadership, identity, care, ambition, resilience and the invisible experiences many people quietly carry while trying to grow within systems that often reward performance over presence.
Throughout the evening, conversations moved between leadership and belonging, migration and motherhood, confidence and visibility, creativity and survival. Some guests had worked with Vida for years. Others had only discovered the book online a few weeks earlier. Yet the atmosphere felt unexpectedly familiar — as though many people had arrived carrying versions of the same questions.
The evening also marked the first public gathering of what is becoming The Soft Power Circle — a growing community built around thoughtful conversations, reflection and human-centred leadership.
There were no panels, stages or performances.
Just people in conversation.
Readers shared passages that resonated with them. Contributors reflected on the stories they had written for Chapter 14: Voices from the Margins. Strangers introduced themselves to one another between bookshelves and candles. Some laughed loudly. Some cried quietly. Many stayed long after the official evening ended.
In many ways, the launch reflected the spirit of the book itself:
Soft power is not about shrinking.
It is about learning how to remain whole while navigating ambition, leadership and becoming.
Thank you to everyone who came, contributed, supported the book, shared the work, or simply sat in the room with openness and generosity.
This is only the beginning.
